Toronto, Ontario
This $1.6M landscape development project seeks to recreate the heritage landscape that existed along the Queen's Park frontage of the Royal Ontario Museum. A simple lawn forecourt will be re-established to showcase the architecturally detailed facade of the proposed building. An urban plaza is proposed along the Bloor Street frontage that will function as a meeting and gathering space focused on the new main entrance to the ROM. Seating, lighting, signage and detailed paving elements will animate the space and set the stage for this contemporary structure. Renaissance ROM is a high profile project whose outcome will add iconic value to a Canadian landmark. QUINN provided critical public and economic stages to the project. The firm successfully mediated the institutional client with neighbouring institutional and community groups including the University of Toronto and the Provincial Government of Ontario at Queen's Park Circle.
